"I came initially for back pain. My back is so much better due to the training, and I have learned a lot about my body and new ways to move. Some of my back pain came from partner dancing - she has helped me improve how I move my body with another person. My partners have noticed a positive difference in how I dance." - Alan Healy, retired

Another client of mine had a successful life by most measures - he had several advanced degrees, was married, financially well off and had raised a child - and yet he was deeply uncomfortable in his body and his relationships. He had a lot of trouble with his knees, and while physical therapy, surgery and injections helped, they still tended to flare up when he was going through difficult emotional situations.

In our SPRe sessions, we looked for the patterns between his physical ailments and the unspoken and unacknowledged feelings that his knees, a vulnerable joint that doesn't like being used as a weight-bearing joint, were literally trying to communicate. We discovered that his hips, which are a much sturdier joint, were locked up and unable to support him through their full range of motion. We built a relationship of trust over time and we were able to examine how his personal history, including early childhood abuse, was speaking through his current experience.

This was accomplished not just through talking about these things but with attuned bodywork, using the resonance of my own nervous system to feel what is going on in his.

He began to experience greater depth of feeling and started to speak up in his life about his needs. His knee pain improved, but moreover, when he had a flare up, he was able to understand more fluently what his body was telling him - often that his needs were being overlooked.   -VVJ

I once had the opportunity to work with a woman who was recovering from an automobile accident that had left her with unexplained nerve pain throughout her body for years. She was unable to do any kind of movement without debilitating pain afterwards. She was recommended to me by a bodyworker and I made it my number one goal to help her to experience movement without pain.

Using the GYROTONIC® pulley tower and my own hands I was able to support her body while she began to find micro-movements of her spine and legs. She didn't experience pain afterwards and began regular sessions. Her strength, flexibility and agility grew, and for the first time in many years she was able to experience life without pain on a regular basis.    -VVJ

"Some areas of my body have held painful movement patterns for many years and Victoria's use of Gyrotonic exercises have helped me develop pain free movement with strength and flexibility.    She has guided me into new ways of moving my body that I find joyful, playful, and feeling connected with my interior and exterior self." - Carol Chellino RN MPH Health Coach
